Young Once Ministry (YO)
The Young Once Ministry aims to equip the elderly members of the church to win others to the saving grace of God, and to deepen their knowledge in the Lord and obey His commands so that they will be better prepared to render an accounting of their lives to the Lord, and say: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. [NIV] 2 Timothy 4:7
To fulfill this vision, the ministry meets every first Saturday afternoon of the month or after the Prayer Morning Special. The core and workers are active in going to the outreach in Tuel, sharing the gospel and leading Bible studies in the homes of non-GLCC families. Some members are also active in other ministries as well.
The Y.O. was organized a month after the choir ministry had their second tribute to the senior citizens of the church in September 2006. The first YO fellowship was held in November 12 that same year and included members from fifty years old and above. The desire to serve the Lord in their waning years is strengthened by the promise and theme verse from Isaiah 46:4 "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." [NIV].
